Hiking on the Åland Islands

Many hiking trails on the Åland Islands are short (appr. 2.5-5 miles / 4-8 km) but nice and pretty easy. Meadows, rocks, woods and some roads - it is a mix. These hikes are suited for 1-8 people in general, but can also be done with more people.

  • There are some longer trails (Sadelin trail, Lemland trail, St Olav Waterway) which requires a few days of hiking.
I will not go through the longer hikes here, but please contact me if you are interested - I will take you hiking there as well 👍.

  • We do have some really short, but beautiful hikes here as well. These are perfect if you bring small children or someone who has a hard time walking, or maybe you are just short of time!

  • Would you like to hike somewhere else, than suggested below 👇? No problem, let us do that! Contact me here 🙂.

The price for the hikes include the hike itself including the time to get to the hike, and my service during this time. I will do some guiding about Åland on the way there as well. Costs for food, bicycles, rental car or the local bus are extra. The prices are per person.

If you are a group, you will get a group rate. I will help you with the rental of a bus if needed.

Welcome to the Åland Islands, take a look at some suggestions below and let me guide you 😊🔆🥾.

Långbergen - a glimpse of the Stone Age

This trail will take us to higher ground - on the Aland Islands 😊. The highest level on this trail is 110 meters (361 feet) above sea level, but since the highest level here on Aland is 129 meters (423 feet) above sea level, it means that the views from the top will be great!

Langbergen will also tell us about the Stone Age and the islands through the millennia.

We may bring some picnic or stop for lunch (I have some good suggestions!) afterwards. Please send me an email if you are interested 🙂🥾.

Hike/walk on the Mariehamn Promenade

This is trail I never get tired of, even though I have walked it so many times through the years, that I have lost count long ago 😊.

We are walking along the water on both sides of Mariehamn, since the town is situated on a peninsula. I will tell you about Mariehamn and Åland and its history and stories. We will of course make photo stops, that is necessary!

Depending on how much time you have, we can make it shorter or longer, I think I know every corner around there 😀. I can meet you right by the cruise terminal.

On this trail I would suggest 1-10 people, but we can do it in larger groups too.

Please send me an email if you are interested 🙂🥾.
